Description
Launched in 2021, this initiative focuses on climate justice and community resilience. It aims to help vulnerable populations cope with the effects of climate change (such as extreme heat) while reducing their carbon footprint and electricity costs. Home Energy Audits: Volunteers visit residents to measure environmental data like light intensity, temperature, and humidity. Energy Efficiency Upgrades: Replacing old, inefficient light tubes and bulbs with high-durability LED lighting at no cost to the residents. Climate Education: Hosting workshops on making DIY air purifiers, energy saving, and disaster preparedness for extreme weather. Volunteer Training: The "Low Carbon Community Leaders" program trains local residents to help their own neighbors.
